Generally on the sheltered water of the River Wey. There are many portages, so spray decks are not required. The Wey is a winding river and navigation. Very good for tactical racing.
he Richmond Hasler Marathon is held from Ham House Car Park, and not from Richmond Canoe Club due to lack of parking at the club. The river is semi Tidal. Due to the time of year there usually is not much flow. RIC provide safety cover BUT paddlers should be competent at rescuing themselves in moving water. http://www.richmondcanoeclub.com
The B3C Hasler marks the start of the Southern Regional Hasler season after the winter break.
The race is held on the Dart Estuary starting from Totnes Rowing Club. The Estuary is wide and open with gently banking sides. No portages. It will be held at high tide so any flows will be gentle.

Ocean Race – Not a Marathon Race Entry Level – depending on Conditions Running from Porth Eirias Watersports Centre, Colwyn Bay (see map below), there is ample parking, changing facilities, showers & onsite restaurant café & bar as well as safety cover on the water throughout the event.
15km upstream race or tour on the incoming tide from Conwy to Dolgarrog. This is an open estuary race where the current is strong and the conditions can be rough. All paddlers must wear a buoyancy aid and all boats must have adequate buoyancy for the conditions. We recommend an ability cut off level at Division 7 but experience of similar conditions is more important:
The race is a circuit, based on the river Thames alongside Thames Valley Country Park, Reading It is suitable for all levels and includes a portage for higher level races.
he race takes place on the River Itchen which is tidal. Dependant on conditions spray decks and buoyancy aids would be required. The lightning course takes place over a sheltered stretch of water. In past years there hasn’t been a portage. Safety cover is always provided with a number of ribs providing support over the course.
This is a standard Hasler race set on a broad and beautiful stretch of the River Thames. The course (suitable for all paddlers from novice to international) winds from the dreaming spires of Oxford down through the gentle rolling countryside of Oxfordshire, and back to the start. Spectators can stroll along the towpath – taking in the race, the punts the occasional pleasure cruiser and our world-famous rowers.

The annual Longridge Hasler is held on one of the most picturesque stretches of the River Thames, between Marlow and Cookham. It is suitable for all ages and abilities
A circuit race on the River Thames between Whitchurch and Mapledurham Locks. Portage is a beach and bank run Suitable for all levels .
Div 7-10 River Thames Circuit Course round an Island Div 1-6 An out and back course on River Thames 4-6 2 lock portages 1-3 2 or 3 portages (a choice of 3 portages or paddling a slightly longer course and doing 2 portages.

The challenge covers the 56miles from the centre of Glasgow to the centre of Edinburgh over 2 days with an overnight stop in Falkirk. Day 1 is on the Forth & Clyde Canal whilst Day 2 is on the Union Canal.
Entry is available for singles and doubles completing the whole course as well as a range of different relay and team options so the challenge can be completed by most levels of experience and ability.
This event is also recognised as satisfying the standard required to be allowed to enter the Devizes to Westminster Race.
Probably the oldest canoe race in the world. A K1 circuit race, 10k for seniors and 5k for juniors, starting and finishing at the clubhouse. Wide stretch of river. No portages.

Race on the Oxford Canal
Held every Remembrance day since 2012 and growing in popularity year on year this is a 15 mile race starting in Great Linford (near Milton Keynes) and finishing at the club;s landing stage.
20 miles 12 portages
- Start: Banbury Canoe Club, Cropredy Wharf, Cropredy OX17 1PG.
- Turn point: Nell Bridge, Aynho Lock at 10 miles. O/S map 151 Explorer ref (484, 342)
- Finish: Banbury Canoe Club, Cropredy Wharf, Cropredy, OX17 1PJ.
Paul will be running this trip within BC and club covid guidelines but will still make it fun. You should be able to transport yourself and equipment as car sharing is not allowed yet. We also have a short list of covid do’s and don’ts to help keep everyone safe.

This is an ideal follow-on trip for paddlers after the Yat or Shepperton, for anyone wanting to refresh skills, blow the cobwebs away or enjoy a day on the river in fab scenery. Weekend river trip, choosing the best of South Wales on the day but aiming for one oi the grade 2 or grade 2(3) rivers around Builth Wells – hopefully the Upper Wye and Lower Irfon. Ideal for paddlers who have previously paddled the Barle or The Yat, as well as more experienced paddlers wishing to wash the cobwebs off their paddles.
