Nov 29 @ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
With this year’s AGM, we are also having a meal to celebrate our 40th anniversary as a club.  This will be on Friday 29 November at the Mytchett Community Centre.  The timings will be:

  • Normal AGM ceremony:  7:00 to 8:30
  • Meal:  8:30 onwards

If you would like to attend the meal, there will be a cost of £11 per person, to include a soft drink.  There will also be a bar to buy additional drinks.  Please RSVP by 8th November via this link.  We have a limited capacity for catering, so tickets for the meal will be on a first come, first served basis.

If you do not wish to stay for the meal, there is no need to RSVP.  More details will follow closer to the date but latest documents and details will be on the BCCC Website.

A number of positions on the committee may be available this year.  PLease contact the Club Secretary Benji Hansell if you are interested in standing for office or committee.  In particular, we are looking for some our juniors to run the youth section of the committee.  A great opportunity for a Duke of Edinburgh award project.

Trophy Returns

If you received an award last year, please return it to Richard Somerset, or leave it in the portacabin kitchen for him to collect.

BCCC Video Shoot
Mar 7 @ 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

A British Canoeing video crew will be onsite on Saturday 7th March to shoot a short profile of our club.  This will be shown at the BC awards night, where we will be awarded Volunteers Club of the Year. To make the best impression, we need as many people on the water as possible.  Please put this date in your diary and do plan on putting a boat on the water at the club on the 7th. Our award celebrates the breadth of disciplines we offer, so any boat type that you are competent to paddle would be much appreciated.  Session organisers… if there is any possibility that you could do a special/extra session on 7th March, that would also be very much appreciated (let me know if you are planning something).  Club colours if you possess them would also be highly desirable.  9.30am is our usual start time but feel free to turn up later if that’s more palatable.

If you want to be on the water on the 7th but do not wish to be included in the video, please let me know.

Generally on the sheltered water of the River Wey. There are many portages, so spray decks are not required. The Wey is a winding river and navigation. Very good for tactical racing.
