 Peer paddle through Guildford. Launch will be from Dapdune warfe slipway GU1 4RR at 10:30, car parking should be available close to the slipway. Going south through the town and then using the navigation and then looping back on the river. Rick tells us the distance is approx. 5 miles and there may be some fallen trees to get around. 2 locks to be portaged or gone through and 1 portage across a corner of a field. Duration approx. 2.5 hours. Looks like Rick has organised some good weather too, so this is not one to miss! Contact Rick Covell for more information.

 Peer paddle on the Thames and Cherwell around Oxford, approx 9 miles from Godstow Rd, Oxford OX2 8PU Godstow Rd Carpark to Victoria Arms, Marston Mill Ln, Old Marston OX3 0QA Paddling approx 9 miles.  A day trip to the Yat suitable for youngsters and adults intro to white water (must be confident capsizing kayak with a deck), plus experienced paddlers wanting a chance to refresh their skills, you will get wet, you will have fun. Rick is planning a little Thames trip to see out the year, Hurley to Maidenhead on the 9th December. It will be a shuttle and the paddle is 7-8 miles. Get in touch with Rick if you want to find out more.

 Come along for a festive paddle starting at the Canal Centre and work off that extra helping of Christmas pudding that you had. Don’t forget the tinsel for your boat!

Tuesday 22 Jan – paddle to the dark side of Ash Lock and beyond to the Fox and Hounds in Fleet. On the water for 10:00 at Mytchett  hopefully get to Fox and Hounds before they finish serving lunches 14:00. Contact Rick Rick Covell for more information and so transport and lifts back can be organised.

Did you take the challenge last year? Whether you did or you didn’t, you need to take up the challenge this time around! Bring your friends and family too. Lots of portaging. Great practice for the Devises to Westminster race. Start and finish at the same place.

We will need a goodly number of volunteers to assist and organise on the day. Please let the race organiser Bill Hansell know if you would like to help out. The usual stuff: check-in, starts/finishes, marshals, car parking, paddlers food etc.
