B3C Elimination Race

Saturday 27 April, 10am – B3C Elimination Race.  We’ve all seen the cyclists do it, where the final racer at the end of each lap is eliminated!  The B3C race will have a shorter course for GP/Tourer and a longer course for racers, but all on the water at the same time in the same event.  This event is free, with tea and toast in the clubhouse after. Northampton Active (Nene Whitewater) @ Nene Whitewater Centre

Paul Jeffs is planning this trip to the artificial whitewater course near Northampton. This is suitable for paddlers already paddling whitewater or who have already had an introduction to whitewater. It will be coach-led and we will be adhering to lots of rules the centre are working within, to help keep everyone covid-safe. Paul can only take 5, and you should be able to transport yourself and equipment, he may be able to help with the odd kayak but car sharing is not yet allowed. Please let him know if you want to come – prebooking is mandatory! Nene was one of the UK’s first artificial whitewater courses and gives an opportunity to get paddling again! Whitewater Refresher @ Symonds Yat

A coached refresher at the Yat for paddlers wanting a chance to refresh their skills in a familiar environment. We will be working within the Club and BC COVID-19 guidelines. The location is in Tier 2, so appropriate restrictions apply. Paul can only have 5 as he will be working within the rule of 6. You must be able to transport yourself and equipment, car sharing is not allowed and you must follow club instructions for sanitising any equipment you borrow. We will still have fun. Chris Williams would like to share how to plan trips involving tides and some basic weather fundamentals so as to better analyze what the weather forecasts are trying to tell us.

Chris has been a Yacht Master for many years and has planned many of our sea trips including Isle of Wight via the Forts, and via the Needles, Berry Head,  Portsea Island to name but a few.
