A note from the Club Chairman (Liz Murnaghan) regarding volunteers:
'I would like to thank all these volunteers for giving up their time to contribute to the running of the club.
Without volunteers, there would not be a Canoe Club.

Anti Social Behaviour
Sadly there are some people about who have decided to throw stones at paddlers.
If this happens to you please call the Police on 999 as soon as possible, it is an assault.
If you see some bad behaviour that you feel doesn't merit Police involvement then call the Canal Centre
on 01252 370073 (Office hours) or 078944 425588 (Out of office hours).
Stay safe, your first priority is yourself and the group you are paddling with.
The barrier to the field
Club members can use the BCCC key in the boathouse to open the barrier.
Members can also buy their own copy of the barrier key from Basingstoke Canal Authority.
If you unlock the the barrier then you must lock it again immediately after use.
N.B. If this procedure is not followed then we risk losing vehicle access to the field.
General Information
The BCCC is a family club which aims to introduce parents and children
to canoeing. The club was formed in 1979 and is affiliated to the
British Canoe Union
.
The club celebrated it's 25th anniversary during 2004 and is one of
the largest and most diverse canoeing clubs in southern England.
Check out our newsletter archive to find out what we
get up to.
Whilst many clubs specialise in a specific discipline of the sport,
we here at the BCCC cater for a wide range of canoeing activities including
flat water racing, slalom, touring, white water and sea canoeing. To help
encourage newcomers to the club, and existing members broaden their canoeing
experience, the club owns a range of both general purpose and specialist
boats available to all to use/try/borrow.
Our regular club evening is Tuesdays, from 6:30pm until dusk, at the
Basingstoke Canal Centre, Mytchett, Surrey. Here's a
if you need one.
Besides our summer-time Tuesday evenings, the club hires a swimming
pool at RAF Odiham, every other Sunday evening. You can find all the details
on our pool page.
We also organise various trips
throughout the year, visiting different kinds of water - fast flowing rivers,
weirs, the seaside and other venues, both in the UK and France. Some trips
involve camping.
